Delta Airlines suspends Atlanta-Shanghai service

Delta Airlines decided tu cut the route between Atlanta and Shanghai due to the flagging demand and the high fuel prices on January 18.

The service, which began in 2008, had been suspended before and brought up this June, but the poor performance “didn’t justify continuing it” said Trebor Bantetter, Delta’s spokesman. Business travellers  lamented the lost of the service.

Also, the rising of the oil prices have been a major hurdle,  making Delta increase their fees in order to deal with the higher costs, specially on flights across the Atlantic.

Delta will also be discontinuing routes from Atlanta to Tel Aviv, Israel, Athens, Greece, Copenhagen, Prague Moscow.
