New service will connect Salisbury and Orlando

Allegiant will be launching a new service between Salisbury-Ocean City and Orlando Sanford International Airport. This nonstop link will begin with flights taking off on February 16.

Bob Bryant, Airport Manager said that the announcement has been one of the biggest in the past two decades working in the airport

“I think it’s a very big deal for Salisbury,” said County Councilwoman Gail Bartkovich, who said she would likely use the service herself. “This is a real plus for the citizens of the region.”

The flight will have introductory fares at $59.99, which will help with the kick off. The discounted tickets must be purchased by Dec. 28 and are valid for travel through May 15, 2012. Officials said the introductory fares won’t be available for all flights, and seats are limited.
