Runaway cat returns home from France

A stowaway cat that managed to fly from Appleton, Wisconsin to France will be returned to her home.

Emily will fly first-class on Continental Airlines from Paris to Newark and then onwards to Wisconsin.

Somehow the cat had managed to get inside a shipping container last September and was found a month later in a laminating factory in Nancy, France.

Fortunately the cat was wearing ID tags and the workers were able to contact the surprised owners.

A Continental spokesman said the airline was pleased to return Emily home in time for the holidays.

They added: “Continental Airlines is well regarded for pet transport and our acclaimed PetSafe program, and we knew we could provide the very best air service to Emily, getting her back to her family quickly and comfortably.”
