Discount airline AirTran is celebrating the opening of Atlanta’s Georgia Aquarium by putting whales on board its planes.
The whales will come in the form of special packs of cheese crackers shaped like the world’s largest mammal.
As a sponsor of the new aquarium, AirTran wanted to promote today’s opening of what will be the world’s largest aquarium in one of its major destinations.
AirTran vice president Tad Hutcheson said the airline wanted to let its passengers in on the opening festivities.
He said: “Not only are the crackers a delicious snack, but they are also an effective tool that will help inform the public about the opening of the new aquarium in Atlanta today.
“The Georgia Aquarium is a one-of-a-kind facility that will greatly benefit the Atlanta community and the state of Georgia.”
The aquarium will display over 100,000 fish in more than 8 million gallons of water.
