American Airlines has announced it will be changing its in-flight food options just in time for the busy winter travel season.
The airline will introduce new snack boxes that passengers can purchase during the flight. They will be available on flights with a duration of more than three hours and take place between the hours of 5 am and 9 pm.
The boxes’ content will also change frequently. Morning boxes will include snack bars, crackers and cheese, while later on in the day boxes could include cookies, drinks and sandwiches.
American’s managing director Mary McKee said the boxes would be regularly updated to provide as much variety as possible for passengers.
She added: “We believe our new snack boxes have something that will appeal to all of our customers, from the seasoned road warriors to families traveling for the holidays.”
Boxes can be purchased for $3 each.
