In less than a month a new service and the first international flight, provided by JetBlue, will begin between Westchester County Airport and Nassau in the Bahamas.
Peter Scherrer, general manager of Westchester Airport said that these flights won’t require any U.S. customs check at the airport in Harrison because passengers boarding in the Bahamas will be “pre-cleared”.
“If they didn’t have pre-clearance, we wouldn’t be able to get flights in here,” he added.
Once the service from Nassau begins, JetBlue will fly one flight in and an other out daily, said JetBlue’s spokesman Mateo Lleras.
Flights will be schedule to depart at 8:10 a.m., landing in Nassau at 11:10 a.m. Returning flights will take off from Nassau at 12:05 p.m. and will be arriving in Westchester at 2:55 p.m., said Lleras.
