Citing low demand and passenger levels, discount airline JetBlue has announced it is cutting its flights between Sacramento and Washington, D.C.
The changes will go into effect on January 5, 2006 and while no statement has been made regarding customers with tickets for the route after this date, a refund is likely.
Other cuts and reduced flight frequencies can be expected after the busy holiday season as the airline tries to cope with lower seasonal demand.
Airline officials mentioned that the airline would continue to fly to Sacramento from its hub in New York as well as from San Diego, Burbank, Oakland, Long Beach and Ontario.
JetBlue began flying between Sacramento and the nation’s capital over two years ago.
