Mexicana Airlines has begun a new route between Mexico City and Miami.
Starting today, the flights will leave the Mexican capital at 7am and return from Miami at 6:15 pm.
Airline officials said the route was added due to high demand among the business traveler sector for a flight between the two cities that could have the passenger back to their home city in the same day.
The new flight means that Mexicana now flies to 13 American destinations, the most of any Mexican airline.
Mexicana is currently overhauling its entire operation and has been put up for sale by the government. The likely new owners have said they would like to transform the airline into a discount service in the Southwest Airlines mold.
This could be a huge boost to air travel in Mexico as currently domestic flights are more expensive than international ones.
