Number of passengers on American Airlines grew despite bankruptcy

Bankruptcy protection doesn’t seem like an issue to consumers when flying on a carrier. In fact, passengers flew more miles on American Airlines on January compared to the same month last year.

American’s passengers flew 10 billion miles last month, which is up 1.4 percent from the 9.87 billion miles the year before.

The Fort-Worth based airline said that international traffic grew 5 percent, with gains of more than 3 percent to Europe and Latin America.
