Ohio airport to clear space for deer

Ohio’s Akron-Canton Airport has announced plans to clear space near its perimeter so that white-tailed deer can graze.

The airport is trying to prevent the deer from getting in the way of departing and arriving jets, which has been a growing problem recently.

As a result of a number of collisions the airport will clear 33 acres of forest that are just over 1,000 feet west of Akron-Canton. The estimated cost has come in at $2.5 million.
