Stewart Airport passengers increase

Passengers at Stewart International Airport, between July and August, increased up to more than 4,000 people.

Mike Torelli, the Airport’s manager of properties and business development, attributed this increase to the JetBlue’s second daily flight to Orlando which was added during the summer.

Stewart International Airport handled 41,148 passengers in July and 41,321 in August, compared to the 37,000 approximately in the same months of last year.

The extra JetBlue flight, introduced as a seasonal flight, has been temporarily taken off the schedule. However, during Thanksgiving and the year-end holiday season the JetBlue service will return, and again from President’s Day through late April in 2012.
